How to Prepare a Vehicle for Transport

A pickup-ready vehicle reduces delays, improves the condition record, and helps the driver load safely.

Before the pickup window

Confirm the vehicle will be accessible, keys are available, the pickup contact is reachable, and any building, auction, or community access rules are known.

Remove valuables and prohibited items

Leave only the agreed fuel level

Disable alarms and toll devices where appropriate

Report leaks, warning lights, or mechanical issues

Provide all necessary keys

Document visible condition

Take clear, time-stamped photos from all sides in good light. Include wheels, glass, roof, bumpers, and any existing damage. Keep your copies with the shipment record.

At pickup

Walk around the vehicle with the driver, verify the VIN or stock reference, review condition, confirm the delivery contact, and read the bill of lading before signing.
